In response to concerns about the seemingly growing issues of young drivers having incidents on our roads (some fatal), SDYC members can undertake young driver experience’s at Castle Combe Circuit. The Startline named course is designed for 12 to 16 year olds and participation is funded through the Stroud Community Safety Partnership by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, Gloucestershire under the priority of ‘safe and social driving’.
A four hour advanced course led by DSA Instructors includes; basic driving skills, car maintenance, road safety and real road situations. Future experiences come highly recommended by those who participated.
Young people who are not connected with SDYC have also taken part in past in these courses. Stroud District Council facilitate young people’s participation on these courses.
